Two Guys. Two Bikes. One Continent.

“Life is made up of experiences.”  That six word sentence is what has led me to today.  Those words were spoken by a very close friend of mine quite a few years ago and are ones which have convinced me to embark on this journey.

Nearly two years ago I cycled across Mexico to help raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support; a charity that I am very fortunate not to have had first hand experience of but one that many Britons hold very dear to their hearts.  In Mexico I rode my bike from Veracruz on the east coast all the way to Puerto Escondido on the west coast over 8 days with 40 other participants.  Among those participants was Steve Steere, a quiet man in his 30s who was there with his brother-in-law, Tim Bradshaw.  Over the course of the 600km ride Steve and I shared a few Coronas and a few laughs and by the end of our journey we had struck up a wonderful friendship.
